From 30.11.2023, customers in the welfare region of North Ostrobothnia, or Pohte, will be the first in Finland to be able to view their social services records in OmaKanna. This significant reform will be made possible by the Saga Social Care customer information system, which will be introduced in stages in the welfare area.
Client data for all welfare areas and private social services will be visible in MyContent during 2023-2026. The display of client data in OmaKanta will require social service providers to make technical changes to their information systems.
The Saga Social Care client information system is part of the Mediconsult Saga® information system package developed for the Finnish social care system, which has been connected to the Social Care Client Information Archive (Kanta services) in accordance with Kela and THL requirements.Saga Social Care delivers data as structured data to the Kanta archive, which means that the implementation of OmaKanta is now also possible for Kela.
- It is great that the move to Saga Social Care now also directly serves the social care clients in the welfare area. The system has been ready for the OmaKanta view for quite some time, and now Kela is also making the information visible. Saga Social Care has already been selected as the social care customer information system for six welfare areas, so the residents of these welfare areas will also have OmaKanta visibility as soon as the system is implemented, says Kristiina Moilanen, Business Director of Social Care.
In MyCanada, customers will be able to see both health and social services information in a single login. In MyCanvas, customers can view various social services documents such as decisions and plans, as well as contact details of their own worker, for example.Previously, these documents were only available in paper form. In the future, social services information will move with the customer through Kanta, even if they move to another welfare area or use both public and private social services.
